DLBP secures approval for office to residential conversion and extension in Enfield, London

DLBP is delighted to have secured approval to change the use of an existing vacant office and extend the first and second floors to provide four new flats on a high street location in Enfield, London.

DLBP was first approached by our client to assess the development potential of the site and devise a planning strategy to maximise this.  Following a site visit, DLBP prepared an appraisal which set out a range of options (including different changes of use and rear and airspace extensions) and advised on the benefits and risks associated with each.

DLBP then prepared two applications - a prior approval application to convert the office to flats, and a full application for the associated external alterations and extensions – to secure our client’s preference for three flats at first floor level and one additional flat at second floor level.

DLBP then acted on behalf of our client as agent and led throughout the application process.  This included coordinating and liaising with the project team of Skyline Design, CHP Surveyors, and KP Acoustics to devise a scheme, and preparing our own supporting statements to explain and justify both applications.

Once submitted, DLBP liaised closely with the Council through to receiving a decision, part of which involved assisting our client in the preparation and signing of a section 106 agreement securing the new flats as ‘car free’ development.

DLBP is delighted to have secured approval for this scheme that will help to revitalise a currently vacant site in a popular location, and look forward to working on similar proposals soon.
