DLBP secures planning permission and listed building consent for internal alterations to Grade II listed home

DLBP is very pleased to have assisted a private client in securing planning permission and listed building consent for internal alterations to an extraordinary Grade II listed, Italianate-style residential property in East Sussex.

DLBP was first approached by our client to secure approval for internal changes that would restore the property to its former condition by revitalising deteriorated features and improving its layout and functionality as a family home.

DLBP worked with Fed3 and Nichols Brown Webber to prepare an application demonstrating the changes to be acceptable.  Following submission, we then worked with Wealden District Council to address concerns regarding the removal of certain features.  This required us to seek input from Price & Myers structural engineers in reassuring the Council that the changes would not be detrimental to the historic fabric of the listed building.

DLBP was therefore delighted the Council concluded the proposed amendments would “make a proportionate and coherent contribution” and result in no harm to the listed building, such the permission and consent were granted.

We very much look forward to working with this client and others on similar projects in the future.
