DLBP secures approval for extension to existing care home garden

DLBP is very pleased to have secured planning permission to extend and improve the gardens of a care home in Sevenoaks, on behalf of Care UK.

This care home currently offers high-quality residential, nursing and dementia care with a range of on-site facilities, alongside landscaped gardens. These garden spaces provide a safe and secure environment for residents of the care home and their families and friends to enjoy.

Care UK identified an opportunity to improve the quality of gardens at this site so proposed an extension to provide more spaces for residents to enjoy, benefitting their wellbeing and mental health.

In preparing this application, DLBP identified protected trees to the south of the site that posed a potential constraint.  We then worked closely with  SJAtrees and ACD Environmental to develop a scheme that retained the relevant trees as well as incorporating specific mitigation measures.

DLBP acted as agent and progressed this application through the planning process, working closely with the Council to ensure a positive decision was received within the statutory 8-week period.  DLBP also ensured no pre-commencement conditions were attached to the decision notice, allowing Care UK to commence work straightaway.
